How to get your logo
on the right ball?

3 simple steps briefly explained

1. Choose the right ball

Anyone who has played golf for a long time knows the often intimate relationship between players and their favourite ball. If you belong to this group, you can skip this step and continue reading at '2. Upload the right logo'.

For those who don't belong to this group, the choice can quickly become overwhelming. As a non-golfer, you may feel lost in the variety of golf ball brands and models. Below are some rules and tips to help you decide.

1.1 Why are golf balls priced differently?

There are several reasons for this. Here are some factors that can influence prices:

Materials and construction:
High-quality golf balls are often made from advanced materials that offer better performance and durability. The construction of the ball, including the number of layers and the type of dimple (the small indentations on the surface), can also affect the price.

Technological innovations:
Golf balls can incorporate various technological innovations that help improve trajectory, spin and control. Advanced designs and technologies can increase the price.

Brand:
Well-known golf ball brands that are known for quality and performance tend to have higher prices. Brand name can have a significant impact on price, as quite a few golfers are willing to pay more for a trusted brand.

Quality control:
More expensive golf balls often go through more stringent quality control checks to ensure they meet the highest standards. This can contribute to more consistent quality and performance.

Target audience:
Golf balls are designed for different players and player types. Balls designed specifically for professionals or experienced players can be more expensive than balls for beginners or recreational players, as the combination of desired characteristics can only be achieved with multiple shells.

To summarise, the variety of materials, technologies, brands and target groups means that golf balls are offered in different price categories. As a ball sponsor or tournament organiser, you should consider the expectations and requirements of the players in order to select the most suitable golf ball for them.

1.2 The different brands and models

There are around 10 renowned golf ball brands, with Titleist (pronounced: Taitlist) being the most prestigious. Titleist has dominated the market for around 90 years and no other brand can compete with its track record. Challengers such as Srixon, Callaway, WilsonStaff and TaylorMade are trying to match the leader with varying degrees of success. The remaining brands fill niches at best, such as Volvik in the coloured ball segment, but they play a rather subordinate role as logo balls.

Titleist's flagship, the 'Pro V1', the first version of which was launched in 2000, retains its unrivalled status as the benchmark almost a quarter of a century later. In short, if you want to give your tournament guests, customers or business partners the best, go for the Pro V1. While this choice comes with the highest price tag, it offers the top performance that discerning golfers of all levels will appreciate.

You may have heard that only very good players or "pros" (players who play golf for a living) can play these expensive balls. This opinion is simply wrong. It's about the same as saying that only real wine connoisseurs can drink expensive wine. Yes, it is true: good golfers appreciate and use the quality of good balls (regardless of brand) more than beginners. But beginners play no worse with a Pro V1 than with a simple ball for 1 franc.

Here are characterisations of the most important golf ball brands:

Titleist: This brand enjoys the reputation of being the best in terms of both popularity and quality. The outstanding position is reflected in the highest price, which is due to the unrivalled performance and the players' trust in the brand.

WilsonStaff: Many golfers know this brand from their time as tennis players and also trust it in golf. The "Duo Soft" model is particularly popular in the affordable segment. The fact that this model is also available in packaging specially designed for women emphasises the versatility and accessibility of this brand.

TaylorMade: TaylorMade benefits from its reputation in club making, transferring its expertise in the production of first-class drivers to the development of high-quality golf balls. Attractive packaging and well-known brand ambassadors such as superstar Rory McIlroy as a figurehead contribute to successful sales. The top model, the TP5, is comparatively affordable despite its quality.

Callaway: The same can be said of Callaway, the supplier with the largest range of all golf brands. The top ball Chrome Soft and especially the mid-range ball Supersoft have a large fan base.

Srixon: Srixon is a giant in its home market of Japan. In Europe, the ball business is steadily gaining in importance thanks to the best price-performance ratio. The Soft Feel and AD333 models are unbeatable value for money and of good quality at the same time.

Ladies logo balls

Both men and women play a variety of shots during a round of golf - half, full, fast and slow. The golf ball played must be effective in all situations. Therefore, although there are packs and labelling specifically designed for women, the basic ball characteristics for men's and women's balls are the same. The most popular women's balls - the WilsonStaff Duo Soft+ and the Srixon Lady Soft Feel - differ from the respective men's balls only in their labelling and packaging.

When buying plain golf balls, only around 18% of our female customers opt for ladies' balls. So do you have to buy only ladies' balls for a ladies' tournament? Not necessarily.

Coloured logo balls

When purchasing unprinted golf balls, around 16% of our customers prefer coloured versions. But should you therefore opt for coloured balls for your golf tournament? Very few do. But variety is stimulating!

Combining cost and suitability

2. What are the requirements for the logo?

We need a printable template from you, regardless of the format (e.g. pdf, ai, svg, etc.). It is best to send us a vector graphic. If none of these terms mean anything to you, just send us what you have. We will contact you if we cannot achieve a perfect result with your template.

You don't have to worry about the size of the logo. It's easy to reduce the size of the logo so that the printable area (the dotted line) is utilised as much as possible.

3. Print approval and delivery

A few days after placing your order, you will receive an email from us with a digital approval to print (GzD).

You carefully check this approval for printing and if everything is correct, you give us your approval. Your balls will arrive approximately 3 weeks later. Perfectly printed with your logo, razor-sharp and in the right colours.
